- Login to your phone with your google mail.
- Login to your desktop with the same email account.
- Enable Location Access, Settings → Location access, check both options.
- Now visit this site
Android Device Manager locates your android phone location and show it on the map. It will be helpful if you've lost your android phone or forget at your friend house or somewhere. You can request a ring too, but this features requires phone internet to be on (silly). Just click on Ring button to ring your phone.
To lock and clear data you first need activate this feature by provoking administrator rights to device manager. See how to enable it.
- Click Setup Lock & Erase, this will sends a notification to your android device - follow the screen shots.
- Tap on the notification to activate device administration. After then click on Activate (don't be afraid this will not clear your data at once ;) ).
- Now you've done.
- To lock your android phone, click on Lock from Device Manager Web App
- To Erase all data, click on Erase from Device Manager Web App
To lock your android phone you need to click on lock from the web application. It will requires you to generate a new password, enter a message or your recovery phone number (both are optional). In case of mobile phone theft I personally don't think someone will call you. And then click on shining-blue-lock-button.
To erase all data just click on Erase button, this will popup a warning message from where you have to confirm the wiping of data. Click on red-erase-button to clear up all photos, apps, and data. Perform a factory reset when you're phone goes online. But after this the Android Device Manager will no longer works to locate your android phone.
These all steps only works if your phone connect with internet. In case a clever thief attempt a factory reset then your phone will no longer detectable via mobile phone trackers or any other android management software.
